Twitter remembers Biden’s campaign promises to end Covid as he now declares ‘no federal solution’

President Biden’s statements during his press conference Monday that there is no federal solution to Covid-19, left many incredulous at the departure from his campaign promises to end the pandemic.

“But you said…,” tweeted one person with a screenshot of Joe Biden’s tweet from October 2020 saying, “We’re 8 months into this pandemic, and Donald Trump still doesn’t have a plan to get this virus under control. I do.”

“I’m old enough to remember this tweet from #noplanjoe,” another person tweeted with a screenshot of another tweet of Joe Biden’s, touting his own hard work to defeat the virus.

“Then: ‘I am going to shut down the virus!’ now: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯,” tweeted Michael Knowles.

“Don’t worry, @potus. Fixed that tweet for ya,” the Daily Wire posted on Instagram with an edited version of Biden’s tweet claiming he is “going to shut down the virus.”

The hashtag “#NoPlanJoe” is trending on Twitter as people react to President Biden’s Monday declaration that the solution to Covid actually lies at the state level, not at the federal level that his rhetoric and administration’s policies have followed up until now.

“Biden says there’s no federal solution to COVID and that this gets solved at a state level. He should immediately end his unconstitutional federal mandates. The Texas solution is no mandates and personal responsibility,” tweeted Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

“Follow up question: So why are there still federal mandates?” demanded someone.

“#Biden, who issued a slew of executive orders and vaccine mandates to private businesses, now tells you #Covid has no federal solutions. Failure,” tweeted another person.

“Biden surrendered on the border, surrendered to the Squad, surrendered to the Taliban, and just surrendered to COVID. Don’t worry, he’s safely ensconced in his beach home. Sleep well. #NoPlanJoe,” tweeted Buzz Patterson.

#NOPLANJOE Boarder [sic] crisis, covid , Afghanistan, gas, inflation , …burning USA to the ground,” someone else agreed.

“He is pushing the federal vaccine mandate even though he says that the virus needs to be handled at the state level? What an idiot! This is what state leaders have been wanting all year!” said another person.

“Biden said he’d ‘shut down the virus,’ yet more Americans have died from COVID under Biden than Trump. #NoPlanJoe,” tweeted Cassandra.
