Whoopi Goldberg slammed for claiming the Holocaust was ‘not about race’
The View cast member Whoopi Goldberg shocked the world today with her comments on the Holocaust, claiming it was not about race because it was “two white groups” involved in the subjugation and genocide.
“Let’s be truthful about it. The Holocaust isn’t about race. No. It’s not about race. It’s not about race. It’s not about race. It’s about man’s inhumanity to man. That’s what it’s about,” she insisted.

Upon receiving weak pushback from other cast members, Goldberg maintained, “But these are two white groups of people? You are missing the point. The minute you turn it into race, it goes down this alley. Let’s talk about it for what it is, it’s how people treat each other.”
“No @WhoopiGoldberg, the #Holocaust was about the Nazi’s systematic annihilation of the Jewish people – who they deemed to be an inferior race. They dehumanized them and used this racist propaganda to justify slaughtering 6 million Jews. Holocaust distortion is dangerous. #ENOUGH,” tweeted Jonathan Greenblatt.
People on both sides of the political aisle expressed horror and disgust at Goldberg’s comments, saying that her views are dangerously ignorant and offensive.
“.@WhoopiGoldberg You deeply hurt &offended me. By minimizing the horror of the Holocaust, the systematic annihilating of 6 MILLION Jews-which by the way IS a race-an attempted GENOCIDE to white on white crime? You “All Lives Matter,” -ed us. Devastating & dangerous,” said Hollywood actress Debra Messing.
“Wow, @WhoopiGoldberg is so wrong on this – the failure of understanding our history is one of the reasons why Anti-Semitism is still growing like a cancer – prejudice and hate in all its forms must be extinguished and called out,” declared Sara Carter.

“Whoopi Goldberg: ‘The Holocaust isn’t about race’ Literally Hitler: our goal is the annihilation of ‘the Jewish race,'” tweeted another person.
“Dear Whoopi Goldberg, If the Holocaust wasn’t about race why did the “master race” murder six million European Jews?” Matthew Kolken tweeted.
Still others called for accountability for Goldberg, citing recent examples of the one-sided cancel culture of the left.
“You all remember when ABC fired Rosanne Barr because of a tweet. So, what is ABC going to do about Whoopi Goldberg and her rhetoric?” one popular account tweeted.
“Why do the people who want Rogan deplatformed for spitting truth have nothing to say about @WhoopiGoldberg antisemitic remarks on @TheView?” wondered Lavern Spicer.
“The Holocaust was about race — it was a genocide of the Jewish people. Will The View and ABC denounce Whoopi’s dishonest and offensive distortion of history?” asked Christina Pushaw.
“WTF? This is insane. The extermination of 6 million Jews wasn’t about race??? Will any rock stars or renegade royals now boycott Whoopi Goldberg and/or ABC for this dangerous misinformation?” tweeted Piers Morgan.
Renowned conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, who is also Jewish, called Whoopi out on her anti-Semitism, as did countless others.
“Whoopi Goldberg explaining that the Holocaust wasn’t about race because these were “two groups of white people” isn’t just insipid, it’s insidious. It’s downplaying the minority status of Jews in order to uphold bullshit intersectional arguments that justify anti-Semitism today,” Shapiro tweeted in a thread condemning Goldberg’s words.
“After maliciously minimizing the atrocities of the Holocaust, leftists have now begun to rewrite the nature and the history of the Holocaust. Whoopi Goldberg is a disgusting, shameless, antisemitic history revisionist,” another person declared.
