LeBron James eliminated from NBA Playoffs in humiliating defeat, storms off refusing to shake hands

LeBron James’ season has come to an end after the Lakers lost to the Suns in game six of the NBA playoffs by 100-113.

Many pointed out James’ lack of sportsmanship throughout the series of playoff games, including walking off the court with five minutes left in game five and storming off the court without shaking hands with the opposing team in game six.

After losing in game six and being eliminated from the playoffs, James was seen exiting the game without the usual congratulatory handshakes given to the winning team. Social media users reacted by blasting the NBA star for un-sportsman-like behavior.

LeBron James is widely considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time, with many players, coaches, commentators, and fans often agreeing that the prestigious title is a toss-up between James and Chicago Bulls legendary player Michael Jordan. James has won the NBA Championship four times in the past, with three different teams.

Much of the negative comments towards James come after he made headlines for criticizing the police officers involved in the shooting deaths of George Floyd and Ma’Khia Bryant. Bryants shooting occured shortly before the verdict was read in the Derekk Chauvin trial, the officer who was found guilty in the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis last year.

In response to the shooting of Bryant by an officer who prevented another girl from likely being stabbed, James tweeted “ACCOUNTABILITY” along with the words “You’re next” accompanied with an image of the officer who shot Bryant.

James received widespread criticism for the tweet, which he later deleted, admitting that it was causing more division.
