Psaki dodges question if Biden thinks 15-week-old unborn baby is human being
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki dodged a reporter’s question on whether President Joe Biden believes a 15-week-old unborn baby is a human being during a press briefing.
“Does the president believe that a 15-week-old unborn baby is a human being?” a reporter asked during Monday’s briefing.
“Are you asking me if the president supports a woman’s right to choose?” Psaki responded, before adding, “He does.” Psaki was also asked about Biden’s reaction to the news on Monday and told reporters that “Joe Biden is a strong man of faith.”

The exchange comes after the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops voted overwhelmingly to draft a specific admonition to Catholic politicians and other public figures who disobey church teachings. Biden has historically flip-flopped on the topic of abortion. In 1973, the year he entered the Senate, Biden told supporters that Roe v. Wade had gone “too far.”
In 1976, he voted for the “Hyde Amendment”, which bans federal funding for abortions, an amendment his administration has since omitted from the 2022 budget proposal. In 2012, Biden pivoted, saying that the government does not have “a right to tell other people that women…can’t control their body.”
Finally, in 2020, President Joe Biden says he supports abortion “under any circumstance.”
When asked about the Catholic Bishops’ proposal on Friday and whether he would be denied Communion, Biden said, “that’s a private matter and I don’t think that’s going to happen.”
Liberal Cardinal Wilton Gregory of Washington, D.C, who said last year that he would still give Communion to Joe Biden, attempted to warn against proceeding with the Eucharistic document but was drowned out by opposition.
Since last week, some Bishops continue to assert that the Biden administration forced their hand, saying that Joe Biden is “a Catholic president doing the most aggressive things we’ve ever seen on life at its most innocent.”
