Rep. Chip Roy slams Pelosi, mask mandates in House Floor speech: ‘This institution is a sham’

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) gave a speech on the House floor decrying the mask mandates put in place for vaccinated members of Congress, claiming the institution does “nothing for the American people” and should adjourn.

“The American people are fed up! They wanna go back to life. They wanna go back to business. They wanna go back to school without their children being forced to wear masks. To be put in the corner and have mental health issues…And the Speaker comes down here at 10 o’clock in the morning and says we’ve got to wear masks…in the people’s house…while we’ve got thousands of people pouring across our border, and Democrats don’t do a darn thing about it, heavily infected with COVID,” Roy said.

“We are absolutely sick and tired of it, and so are the American people. This sham of an institution is doing nothing for the American people. Nothing for the betterment of the people that send their representatives here,” he added.

“We have people infected with COVID coming across our southern border into Texas, and you all put masks, masks upfront here, here in the people’s house? I can’t execute my constitutional duty unless I wear a mask. Which is it, vaccines or masks? Do the vaccines work, or they don’t work? Do the masks work, or they don’t work? I’d like to know which it is?” He continued.

Roy challenged Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Biden administration’s top COVID-19 advisor, to come to Congress and answer questions on natural immunity.

“This institution is a sham, and we should adjourn and shut this place down,” he finished.

“It’s the same in the UK but we are not lucky enough to have someone like this gentleman to speak out,” replied one Twitter user.

“God Bless Chip Roy. We need more men in our government and our country with some backbone like Chip,” said another.

“Well Said. And look at who was the Only one with Balls to applaud. MTG!” replied someone else.

“Chip is an embarrassment to the entire state of TX,” said another.
